Dr Philipp Lange has been working for the Science Platform Sustainability 2030 since 2017. He is currently on secondment to the DKN Future Earth in Stuttgart, where he is supporting the co-chair of the Science Platform Prof. Martin Visbeck. He previously worked as a research associate in the sustainability research subject area at the University of Basel. Lange completed a PhD on sustainability governance at the same university in cooperation with the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development at the University of Utrecht and with funding from the Swiss National Science Foundation. He studied Sustainable Development at the University of Basel (Master of Arts and Science), Sustainability Sciences at the Högskolan Kristianstad, Sweden (Master of Science), and Environmental Sciences at Leuphana University Lüneburg (Bachelor of Science).
