Prof. Ina Schieferdecker is the director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems and Professor for Quality Engineering of Open Distributed Systems at the Technische Universität Berlin. Her research focuses on digital networking, open urban platforms, software engineering, and the safety and reliability of ICT-based systems. Schieferdecker has been a member of the German Advisory Council on Global Change since 2016 and a member of the Executive Board of the Technologiestiftung Berlin since 2018. She is also the founding director of the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society established in 2017 and President of the Arbeitskreis für Software-Qualität und Fortbildung e. V.
She is a member of the steering committee of the Science Platform Sustainability 2030 and jointly leads the process of critically appraising Germany’s Sustainable Development Strategy.
