Dr. Thomas Holtmann has been head of the Environment, Technology and Sustainability department of the Federation of German Industries since May 2008. The department focuses on three key areas: environmental policy (air, water, soil, circular economy, nature conservation, chemicals legislation, etc.); technology policy (product safety, occupational safety, plant safety, standardisation, accreditation, etc.); and sustainability policy (2030 Agenda, Germany’s Sustainable Development Strategy, resource efficiency, ecological design, etc.).
Holtmann is also a member of the Supervisory Board of the German National Accreditation Body and the Supervisory Board of the German Accreditation and Licensing Association for Environmental Consultants.
He is a member of the steering committee of the Science Platform Sustainability 2030 and a member of the working group on the Future of Employment.
