Dr. Marianne Beisheim is a Senior Associate at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin. Her research interests include development cooperation, sustainability governance, and environmental policy. Parallel to her work for the SWP, she is a member of various organisations, including the Research Council of the United Nations Association of Germany (since 2014), the UNITAR Advisory Council “Capacity Development for the 2030 Agenda” (since 2016), and the Advisory Board of the Development and Peace Foundation (since 2017). Beisheim has also been a member of the UN Political Advisory Board of the Federal Foreign Office since 2014.

She is a member of the steering committee of the Science Platform Sustainability 2030 and jointly leads the process of critically appraising Germany’s Sustainable Development Strategy.
